The Undergrad Career Management Process is a four-year timeline of Events, Tasks and End Products that students are advised to follow in order to strategically position themselves for their transition to employment or grad school upon graduation.
In Freshman Year students are urged to identify their signature themes using the StrengthsQuest questionnaire and draft a resume to be used in positioning themselves to prospective employers. Additional activities focus on upgrading students’ oral communications and relationship building skills and are capped with the development of a 30-second introductory statement.
Sophomore Year emphasizes analyzing interests, abilities and motivators with the optional assistance of Career Leader to facilitate the selection of a concentration in their studies that will prepare them for a career of their choosing. The emphasis is on gathering information from hard-copy and virtual sources as well as from life experience in work and organizational settings that will provide a solid foundation for decision making.
The Junior Year kicks off with an emphasis on upgrading the skills to be used in the internship search process. An orientation for all Juniors is designed to introduce the Roadmap for workshops and events.

In addition, students are urged to become active in one or more clubs and plan to assume leadership positions in those clubs that relate to their professional objectives.
During Senior Year, students are expected to implement their job search using the skills they’ve acquired in their three prior years of academic and career development preparation along with the work experience that augmented their studies. Their task is to pursue a job offer from a targeted organization (or gain admission to a graduate school for further study.)
Students will be focusing on networking with individuals in the functional areas of their top targeted organizations and applying for job interviews at those organizations. An orientation for all seniors is designed to introduce the Roadmap for workshops, events and activities.
