The Fowler Career Center will host multiple, function specific, industry executives from September 13 – 14, 2015. Industry focuses will include consulting, finance & accounting, and marketing and will expand to include hospitality & tourism management, information systems and international development. Executives will take 25 minute appointments with students. The sessions are designed to allow students “one-on-one” access to industry leaders who can speak to various topics of interest to the students. This is not meant to be a job interview but rather a chance for students to meet with senior-level professionals employed in their field of interest and learn about the industry, roles, experiences and competencies needed to compete for positions.

Brian J. Wendroff is the Managing Partner for Wendroff & Associates, CPA. After starting his accounting career as an Accountant at a local CPA firm, he founded Wendroff & Associates in 2006 with the founding principle of exceeding expectations as a client’s most trusted advisor. Christopher Young, Deloitte Consulting LLP – Principal

Chris has over thirty years of consulting experience delivering business and finance transformation and advisory services. He specializes in working with federal organizations to identify, plan and deliver on actions to increase productivity, and gain process efficiencies and cost savings. The clients he has served include: Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Transportation, Department of Housing and Urban Development, US Postal Service, General Services Administration and The World Bank Group.

Prior to working with federal organizations Chris focused his efforts with the private sector, advising clients in the professional service, technology and manufacturing industries. He worked on strategic planning and developing internal capabilities for high growth organizations.

Chris has a Bachelors and Masters from George Washington University School of Business and is a member of the GWSB Dean’s Board of Advisors. Prior to Deloitte, Chris worked for the Securities and Exchange Commission. Chris lives in Virginia with his wife Connie and children Tyler and Catherine.

Dan Bello, Booz Allen & Hamilton – Lead Associate

Dan Bello is a Lead Associate in the Civil Commercial Group at Booz Allen Hamilton specializing in Strategic Human Capital Management, and is a POC for Booz Allen’s Succession Management capability. His primary focus is in the areas of Leadership Development and Executive Coaching, Onboarding, Succession and Change Management working in partnership with Federal and commercial clients. Dan received an MFA from Catholic University focused on Performance and Training and an MBA from The George Washington University School of Business with concentrations in Strategy and Change. He is a graduate of the Change Management Advanced Practitioner (CMAP) program at Georgetown and the Leadership Coaching program at Georgetown’s Institute for Transformational Leadership. He is a certified Master Human Capital Strategist (MHCS), and certified to deliver the Hogan Assessment Suite and Scott Eblin’s Next Level 360° assessment.

In addition to providing subject matter/functional expertise, Dan has designed and facilitated training in a variety of mediums for over 20 years including instructor-led training, web-based and on-camera virtual environments and serves as narrator for many internal and external clients at the firm. He serves as a senior facilitator of the Booz Allen’s Leadership Challenge Simulation, a strategic decision-making simulation that guides executive leaders through the increasingly complex challenges they face in today’s constrained operating environment; in addition, he managed the development of the accompanying LCS Facilitator Certification training program.

Justin Bakewell, Brown Advisory – Client Advisor

Justin Bakewell is a client advisor and focuses on the strategic market development of the Washington, DC and Virginia areas. He advises wealthy individuals, family offices, associations, endowments and foundations on developing thoughtful investment strategies in concert with other professional advisors. Prior to joining Brown Advisory, Justin was a vice president at Bernstein Global Wealth Management, where he and his partner advised on over $650 million in assets. He worked hand in hand with clients on a wide range of investment matters, including asset allocation, tax and estate planning, concentrated stock positions and the sale of privately held businesses. Before his return to business school, Justin founded J. Charles Investments, which continues to operate multi-family residential real estate in Washington, DC and Richmond, Va.  Lori Kirkorian, Morgan Stanley – Middle Markets Sales & Financial Advisory

With nearly 30 years experience, Lori is an industry veteran who understands the complexity of the capital markets having witnessed first hand many tumultuous market cycles since her professional career began shortly after the 1987 market crash. After graduating from The Catholic University of America with a B.A in Political Science and studying the Russian language at George Washington University in Washington, DC, Lori chose to continue the study of the Russian Language at Leningrad State University, St. Petersburg, Russia in the summer of 1988. Upon returning home, Lori began her full time career on the American Stock Exchange in New York where she was employed as an intern during her undergraduate summers.

In total, Lori has spent nearly 30 years in various equity derivatives structuring, marketing, trading and risk management roles while at the American Stock Exchange, Cravath, Swaine & Moore, Salomon Brothers, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs & Morgan Stanley. Lori has been able to combine her vast capital markets experience and holistic private wealth planning to educate private clients and their families about meeting their personal financial goals.

Lori is dedicated to helping her community. She is on the board of 180 Turning Lives Around and the Foundation Board of The Mental Health Association of Monmouth County. Lori frequently runs seminars focusing on the financial education of Women and young people. She is a financial industry career mentor at Catholic University, George Washington University and High Tech High School in NJ.

Eric Knobloch, Cisco – Regional Manager Mid Atlantic State

Eric Knobloch is the Regional Manager for Cisco’s Mid-Atlantic State, Local Government and Education (SLED) markets. In this role, he is responsible for developing Cisco’s sales strategies and go to market activities for State and Municipal Government, K-12 and Higher Education. With an 40-person integrated team of sales, engineering, solutions architects, and vertical market specialists, Eric’s region works strategically with customers across Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC to drive technical innovation into the way they protect, serve, and educate.

A 15 year veteran of Cisco, Eric began his career with Cisco in 2000 as a Systems Engineer for the healthcare vertical market and has worked across multiple functional areas of Cisco’s Commercial and Enterprise Sales, as an Account Manager serving Military Health across the US and Asia, and most recently in Advanced Technologies managing Cisco’s Federal Wireless business for Military Health, Veterans Affairs and Civilian Agencies.

Prior to joining Cisco, Eric was employed for 6 years at Johns Hopkins University where he held various positions in clinical informatics and information systems.

Eric holds a dual B.S. in Anatomy/Neurobiology and Computer Science from Colorado State University and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. He is a pilot and active volunteer for AERObridge relief efforts including Hurricane response and is a Volunteer/Navigator for the Living Classrooms Foundation in his hometown of Baltimore, MD.

 Joyce Watson, Events DC – Director of Convention Services

Joyce Watson, who earned her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential in 1997, has nearly three
decades of experience in convention management, facility operations and event coordination. Watson
has a proven track record in executing high-level events and conventions – while demonstrating
dynamic leadership and delivering first-rate customer service. Watson has the unique skill set to help
bring a client’s event vision to life and therefore creates a memorable experience for conventioneers
and attendees alike.

Currently, Watson serves as the Director of Convention & Event Management for Events DC, the official
convention and sports authority for the District of Columbia at Events DC. She oversees convention
services for the Conventions and Meetings Division, which includes the 2.3 million square-foot, Walter E.
Washington Convention Center and the historic Carnegie Library at Mt. Vernon Square, which currently
serves as a special event venue. In her role, Joyce is responsible for the overall operation and direction
of convention show management, exhibitions and event coordination.

Joyce started her career at the San Diego Convention Center. She serviced that facility for 18 years.
After which she spent nearly three years at the Miami Beach Convention Center, where she was
responsible for the building’s service operations, event coordination and meeting planning.
As well she spent four years as Director of Event Services for the George R. Brown Convention Center in
Houston, a 1.2 million square-foot facility. At her role in Houston, Watson was tasked with overseeing
the logistical operations including event management, catering, housekeeping, technology and

As a proven expert in hospitality and convention service management, Watson’s gifts of leadership,
organization, attention to detail, creativity, concept design, operational strategic analysis, customer
service and contagious enthusiasm have earned her a reputation for unparalleled service and excellence
as an event and convention management professional.

Watson is an active member in the following convention and event industry organizations including,
Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), International Association of Venue Managers
(IAVM), Meeting Professionals International (MPI), International Association of Exhibitions and Events

 Kara Taylor, Edelman – Senior Vice Presidenten Kovach

Kara joined Edelman in 2009 and brings more than ten years of experience in marketing and digital communications. As a Senior Vice President and the Digital Health Sector Lead in Edelman’s Washington, D.C. office, she supports a diverse set of clients, creating integrated programs to support health education and commercial objectives. Her clients include AstraZeneca, Amgen, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and Cigna.

Kara began her time at Edelman within the agency’s integrated research, analytics and measurement division. Leading audience-based and insights-driven campaigns, she is versed in a full range of digital capabilities, including digital paid media, content and channel strategy, influencer engagement and community management.

Prior to joining Edelman, Kara developed experiential marketing programs for clients such as Wachovia and Nationwide Insurance to increase customer affinity. While earning her MBA, Kara also worked in interactive research at Discovery Communications and in online audience development with Time Inc.’s consumer marketing group.

Kara has an MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business, where she specialized in Media, Entertainment & Technology. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with a minor in Psychology, from Duke University.

Matt Casey, EY – Manager – Government & Public Sector Practice

Matt Casey is a Manager within EY’s Government and Public Sector practice in McLean, VA. Mr. Casey is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) who focuses on U.S. Federal Government clients and engagements. In addition, Mr. Casey is the Treasurer of Britepaths, a not-for-profit based in Fairfax, VA, and an active alumnus of GWSB’s Master of Accountancy Program.

Mihir Desai, Dexis Consulting -Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Desai is President & CEO of Dexis Consulting Group. Prior to forming Dexis in 2001, he served as a development economist at the World Bank’s Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) and as an economist at leading development organizations including Chemonics International and TSG/AECOM. He has served as technical lead and manager with experience in over 40 countries globally. He currently leads 25 full time staff and professionals from headquarters in downtown Washington, DC and project offices in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Kenya. Mr. Desai is a member of the Board of Governors of Coalition of International Companies (CIDC), a co-chair of the Small Business Association of International Contractors (SBAIC) and a member of the Board of The George Washington University (GWU) Council for International Business Education and Research (CIBER). He holds an MBA from The George Washington University and a BA in Economics from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. He lives with his wife and daughter in McLean, Virginia.

Priscilla Cipollini, Macy’s Inc – Group Vice President, Merchant Forecasting

Priscilla Cipollini is currently the GVP, Merchant Forecasting at Macy’s Inc., overseeing the financial forecasting and analysis for Women’s Shoe and total Beauty including Cosmetics and Fragrances. Working closely with the Divisional Merchant and Planning teams, Priscilla focuses on delivering financial guidance for all in-season business metrics includes sales and gross margin for both Macy’s Stores and Macys.com. Priscilla started her career in retailing in the Executive Development Program at Abraham & Straus in 1983, which was a division of Federated Department Stores at the time. She spent the majority of her career as a merchant in the Home Store holding positions of Buyer and Division Merchandise Manager in the Tabletop & Gift Division.

After 26 years, Priscilla switched gears and joined the Strategic Planning team, using her financial analysis skills to support the company’s goals of maximizing sales and profit across a number of businesses including Ready To Wear, Men’s and Kids Apparel. In 2015, Priscilla assumed her current role in the Women’s Shoe and Beauty world.

Priscilla received her Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, PA and holds a MBA in Finance from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY. Priscilla lives on Long Island, NY with her husband and two children. When not working, she enjoys the beach, boating and cooking.

Chinthika De Mel, EY – Manager – Enterprise Intelligence Practice

Chinthika De Mel is a Manager within E&Y’s Enterprise Intelligence practice, with over eight years of experience in Financial Services Industry. Her areas of experience include system implementations, business process improvements, technical requirements and solution analysis, and project management in capital markets, assets management, mortgage and insurance industries.

Prior to joining EY, she worked as a lead business analyst specialized in Basel implementations.
