Business and Society is Focus of New MBA Intensive Course

DC400x400

MBA students explored how business operates in political, social, and economic environments through an interdisciplinary, four-day intensive course offered for the first time ever in January at GWSB.

Taught by D. Jeffrey Lenn, professor of strategic management and public policy, Business and Society was designed to give MBA students a more comprehensive perspective on business by placing it in a societal context.

The course provided an introduction to the public policy process from the perspective of governmental agencies, corporations, trade associations. and nonprofit organizations, and emphasized the development and implementation of corporate strategies for successful participation in that process.

Capitalizing on GWSB’s prime location in Washington, D.C., the course featured speakers, interactive videos, and off-site visits designed to bring students into closer contact with major national and international organizations headquartered here.
