GWSB Hosts Alumni on Campus for 2015 Alumni Weekend Activities!
GWSB hosted three events during the 2015 Alumni Weekend which took place September 24-27. The GWSB schedule kicked off with the Ramsey Student Investment Conference on Friday, September 25th. About 100 alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends filled the room to hear from keynote speaker Mark Anfang, BBA ’02, Partner at Tide Point Capital. Stock pitches were presented by: David Sentongo, MAccy ’15; Larry (Yufei) Wang, MA ’16; Francisco Castillo, MBA ’12; Mark Hughes, Partner, Portfolio Manager, Lafayette Investments; Andrew Salembier, Partner & Chief Operating Officer, Accolade Partners and Jared M. Golub, GWSB, ’00, Marblegate Asset Management. The event was attended by members of the GWSB Board of Advisors including Jack Calaman, GW Parent; Carrie Potter, GWSB BBA ’99, MBA ’01; Christine Brown Quinn, MBA ’92 and Steve Ross, BBA ’81.
On Friday evening, over 100 guests came together for the GWSB Alumni Dean’s Welcome Reception. The event was attended by GWSB Alumni in addition to GWSB student leaders, faculty, staff and guests. Jeremy Gosbee, CCAS ’98; MBA ‘98, President of the GW Alumni Association (GWAA), made welcome remarks and specifically thanked GWSB volunteers for their service this past year. GWSB Dean Linda Livingstone addressed the crowd and encouraged their involvement in the many opportunities that the school has to offer. She also had the pleasure of announcing that GW has crossed the $800 million mark in the MAKING HISTORY fundraising campaign for the University.
Saturday evening the GWSB Office of Alumni Relations partnered with MBA class volunteers from the full-time MBA Class of 2014 and 2010 to host the 1 and 5 year MBA Reunions respectively. The MBA Class of 2014 had 17 members of their class attend which was 15% of their cohort and the MBA Class of 2010 had 38 members of their class attend which was 41% of their cohort. MBA Reunion Committee Volunteers utilized social media and personal outreach to reconnect with members of their class and encouraged them to attend the event. MBA Alumni came from all over the globe including Turkey and Peru. The Class of 2010 made a weekend celebration of their reunion including a service project with the Anacostia Watershed Society on Saturday morning. Current MBA Students were invited to participate with the alumni to network while doing something beneficial for the DC community.
