Special Message from Dean Doug Guthrie

2011 GW Alumni Weekend and GWSB Alumni Celebration
September 15-18, 2011

I am pleased to extend my official invitation to encourage you to come back to campus and to the School of Business for the 2011 GW Alumni Weekend. There has never been a more exciting time to be involved with GWSB.

In the year ahead, I will be traveling nationally and internationally to meet with as many GWSB alumni as possible to hear your stories and to share my vision for the School of Business. My vision is to build a business school that prepares responsible leaders and managers who understand the complexity of the global economy within a framework of ethics, values and social responsibility.

During Alumni Weekend, I hope you will join me at the special events we have planned so you can see firsthand how GWSB is at the center of reframing business school education. On Friday evening, join me at a reception to reconnect and network with your fellow business school alumni. On Saturday, I will join Dean David Dolling of the School of Engineering and Applied Science for a discussion on how Washington, DC and industry leaders can partner on innovative ideas that will ignite an economic renaissance.

The GW School of Business Alumni Network is a vibrant community that continues to play a key role in the ongoing success of GWSB. I look forward to welcoming you back to campus.

Best regards,
Doug Guthrie
Dean and Professor of International Business and Management

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers sought for MBA Mentor Program

This fall the Office of Alumni Relations and The MBA Programs Office will be inviting MBA students from all programs to participate in the 4th year of the MBA Mentor program. The mentoring program is a real world, practitioner-oriented accompaniment to the MBA Programs based on the strategic pairing of MBA students and GWSB alumni. The goal of the program is to enhance the educational experience of graduate students through the vast wisdom, talents, and networks of the GW School of Business alumni community. Reciprocally, GWSB alumni are offered the opportunity to further develop leadership skills and to make a difference in students' futures.

Additional details about this year’s program will be shared in future communications. If you are interested in sharing your wisdom as a mentor this year, please email
