Reunion Grows Nearer as Excitement Builds, by Bob Sempek, MSA '80

This will be my first reunion since graduating many, many years ago and I am truly looking forward to the return to campus. It will be heartening and highly enjoyable to see my classmates and learn about their lives, accomplishments and experiences since those formative years at the Business School.  Since graduation I have kept in touch with GWSB through reading the Alumni Advocate, making occasional trips back to campus, and recently getting more active in alumni support.  Still there is no experience like being there on the vibrant George Washington University city campus, mingling with the faculty, staff, old friends and new friends on a fine fall weekend for an unforgettable reunion experience. Hope to see you on campus!

GW School Of Business International Program Ranked In Top 10 By US News & World Report

The George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) has one of the top international business programs in the nation, according to the 2011 “Best Colleges” rankings from U.S. News & World Report. GWSB’s international business curriculum for undergraduates is ranked seventh in the nation, up from 16th last year.  The magazine ranked the school’s overall undergraduate program as 34th in the nation, up from 38th in 2010.

“The consistent recognition of the GW School of Business international program as one of the best in the nation and in the world demonstrates our students’ readiness to lead in today’s global economy,” said Doug Guthrie, dean of GWSB and professor of management and international business.  “We are building our reputation by educating a generation of students who understand the connections between worldwide economic, political and social forces.”

The U.S. News & World Report rankings for undergraduate programs are based on a survey of deans and senior faculty at undergraduate business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

“We are pleased to be recognized for our high academic standards and the global perspective our students gain while at GW,” said Lawrence Singleton, GWSB associate dean for undergraduate programs.

GW's School of Business prepares students for professional management careers. The depth and variety of its academic and professional programs, including five specialized master's programs, provide rich opportunities for students in the school's core bachelor of business administration, master of business administration, and doctoral programs.  GW's undergraduate- and graduate-level international business programs rank among the world's best.
