Volunteer Opportunities with Undergraduate Programs

The GWSB Office of Alumni Relations and the Office of Undergraduate Programs have several opportunities for Alumni to share their wisdom with current students this semester. Gifts of time and wisdom are invaluable ways to increase the vitality of the GWSB Alumni Network! Below are a list of programs where we could use your support. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please email the Office of Alumni Relations at gwsbalum@gwu.edu to learn more and confirm your participation.

First Year Development Program (FYDP) Alumni Panel
October 10th-14th
Various dates and times are available

Alumni role:
Share your GWSB story with first year GWSB Students. Highlight your experience in business school and how you leveraged your GWSB degree to help you in your career. (A limited number of slots are available and will be assigned in order of request to participate.)

Prep for Success Panel Series
October 10th - Accounting
December 6th - Finance
January 24th - Marketing/PR
January 31st - Consulting
February 14th - Entrepreneurship/IT

Alumni role: To share your career story with current GWSB undergraduate students. Advise students on how to conduct a successful job search in your industry.

The Mintz Sophomore Getaway
Saturday, October 29th, 9:15am - 12:00pm
Held at Camp Letts in Annapolis, MD

Alumni role: During this sophomore retreat from campus, students will be participating in an interactive case study related to his or her desired field of concentration. Alumni, joined by faculty and staff, will ask probing questions about the case and help students develop their responses.

Alumni Mentors for the GWSB Living and Learning Community
Two GWSB Living Programs were piloted this year. GWSB now has a freshman Living and Learning Program (LLP) in Thurston Hall comprised of 92 students and a sophomore Living and Learning Community (LLC) in Guthridge Hall comprised of 26 students.

Alumni role: As part of the LLC, we are looking to pair each student with an alumnus who works in their industry/functional area of interest. Additional details will be provided to interested mentors.
